Attorney General Pam Bondi has accused the FBI of concealing thousands of pages of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents, demanding their immediate release in a scathing letter to FBI Director Kash Patel on February 27, Fox News reported.

Bondi revealed that she had initially requested the complete Epstein case file before Patel took charge of the bureau but received only 200 pages—far fewer than the documents released last year in a civil lawsuit involving Epstein’s longtime associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.

“I repeatedly questioned whether this was the full set of documents responsive to my request and was repeatedly assured by the FBI that we had received the full set of documents,” Bondi wrote in her letter. “Late Wednesday, February 26, I learned from a source that the FBI Field Office in New York was in possession of thousands of pages related to the investigation and indictment of Epstein.”

She demanded the undisclosed records be handed over by Friday, February 28, and launched an internal investigation into the matter. Patel, who recently assumed leadership of the FBI, responded on X, stating that his tenure would mark “a new era.”

“There will be no cover-ups, no missing documents, and no stone left unturned—and anyone from the prior or current Bureau who undermines this will be swiftly pursued,” Patel wrote. “If there are gaps, we will find them. If records have been hidden, we will uncover them. And we will bring everything we find to the DOJ to be fully assessed and transparently disseminated to the American people as it should be.”

The FBI has yet to respond publicly to Bondi’s allegations. The bureau is already facing a lawsuit for allegedly failing to properly investigate credible accusations against Epstein decades ago, Fox News noted.

Bondi had vowed on February 26 to disclose “pretty sick” information regarding Epstein, but the DOJ’s subsequent document release fell short of expectations. The 200 pages made public on February 27 were already known to the public, and Bondi contends that thousands more remain undisclosed.

Additionally, Bondi ordered Patel to determine why these files were withheld and to recommend “personnel action” within two weeks. Sensitive details about Epstein’s victims will be redacted before any public release, she confirmed.

Epstein, a convicted sex offender, was found dead in his jail cell in 2019 in what was officially ruled a suicide. His accomplice, Maxwell, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking. Notably, former President Donald Trump’s name appears in Epstein’s flight logs multiple times—though his association with Epstein has been publicly known for years, Fox News reported.
