Farhan Akhtar Cast In Sam Mendes’s Film Series On The Beatles

MUMBAI– Farhan Akhtar has been cast by director Sam Mendes’s in his upcoming project, ‘The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event.’

Akhtar was last seen in a Hollywood project in the web series ‘Ms. Marvel’, where he appeared in a supporting role.

According to Variety, Akhtar has been cast as legendary Indian composer and sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, whose work had a major influence on George Harrison and helped introduce Indian classical music into the sound of the Beatles in the 1960s.

The four-film project will feature separate films told from the perspectives of each band member. The cast includes Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.

The Mendes-directed project will chronicle The Beatles’ rise from Liverpool to global fame and their eventual breakup in 1970. The band has granted full life-story and music rights for the scripted films. All four instalments are scheduled for a theatrical release in April 2028.
