FBI Is Tapping India To Block China’s Fentanyl Pipeline To US Says Kash Patel

WASHINGTON, DC — In a striking revelation on The Joe Rogan Experience, FBI Director Kash Patel announced that the agency is working directly with Indian law enforcement to disrupt fentanyl precursor supply chains flowing from China through India to Mexico.

Patel disclosed that the FBI is targeting companies based in China that are sending chemicals to India, where they’re rerouted to Mexico for fentanyl production and eventual trafficking into the United States. “I literally just got off the phone with the Indian government,” he said, pressing officials for help. “India’s not consuming fentanyl, but it’s becoming a transit point. I told them, ‘I need your help.’”

The joint U.S.-India efforts come amid a broader strategy to crack down on global fentanyl trafficking networks. Patel emphasized that this isn’t just a criminal enterprise—it’s geopolitical. “The Chinese Communist Party has used it as a directed approach because we are their adversary,” he said, describing Beijing’s role as a long-term strategy to “kneecap the United States.”

The new international cooperation reflects growing urgency in Washington to combat America’s opioid crisis. According to CDC data, overdose deaths dropped in 2024 to 80,391, down from over 110,000 in 2023. Officials credit stepped-up enforcement and international pressure, including new tariffs imposed earlier this year by the Trump administration on fentanyl-related imports from China, Mexico, and Canada.

Patel also highlighted a landmark DEA operation in May, which led to the seizure of more than 400 kilograms of fentanyl and 16 arrests—the largest bust in the agency’s history.

A recent report by the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission reaffirmed that China remains the dominant source of illicit fentanyl and its precursors entering the U.S.

As the U.S. strengthens ties with India to cut off these supply lines, Patel made clear: “This is not just law enforcement. It’s about national security.”
