WASHINGTON, DC – South Asians for Harris has released the final video in their “Why Kamala” series, featuring actress Reshma Shetty, as part of their campaign to engage South Asian youth for the 2024 presidential election. The video series, which highlights South Asian perspectives from entertainment, advocacy, and law, launched on September 30 with actress Tiya Sircar, known for her roles in Star Wars Rebels and The Good Place. Sircar’s testimonial, which has garnered over 6,950 views, discusses her support for Kamala Harris, particularly as a female leader.

The series also includes testimonials from former San Francisco Assistant District Attorney Supriya Perry, who served under Harris, and shares her admiration for Harris’ intelligence, kindness, and commitment to the American people. Another video showcases Vasant and Champa Patel, known for their appearance in Meet the Patels, who emphasize their support for Harris’ bipartisan approach, economic vision, and leadership.

In addition, twelve youth organizers from South Asians for Harris participated in a “Why Kamala” video, expressing their support for the Harris-Walz ticket and praising the candidates’ dedication to public service. “The momentum we’ve seen from South Asian youth getting involved has been inspiring,” said Ananya Kachru, co-chair of the South Asians for Harris Youth chapter.

The video production was led by Rohit Padmakumar, who produced the videos featuring Sircar, the Patels, and Shetty, and included an instructional video on voting. Anish Mohanty produced the segment with Perry, and Amala Lane led the video featuring youth organizers.
