Former Haley Campaign Staffers Are Endorsing Harris

WASHINGTON, DC – Several former members of Nikki Haley’s 2024 presidential campaign have publicly endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, marking a significant break with Haley, who has since backed Donald Trump. These endorsements come from key figures who once held leadership roles in Haley’s state campaigns.
Tom Evslin, the former co-chair of Haley’s Vermont state leadership team, endorsed Harris in an op-ed for the Vermont Daily Chronicle, emphasizing the role of independents and former Haley supporters in deciding the 2024 election.
In Michigan, two other former Haley supporters—business consultant Jimmy Greene and communications expert Bill Nowling—also announced their endorsement of Harris. In a joint op-ed for the Michigan Chronicle, the two Republicans praised Haley but expressed disappointment with the current state of the Republican Party.
Nowling is also a co-chair of the group Republicans for Harris, which includes prominent former GOP representatives such as Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Denver Riggleman of Virginia, CNBC reported.
Haley’s former Iowa state co-chair, Dawn Roberts, made a similar announcement in the Des Moines Register. Roberts, a lifelong Republican, wrote about Harris, “She showed willingness to listen to a wider range of views to solve problems.”
These endorsements highlight a growing faction of Republicans who, while initially backing Haley, are now crossing party lines to support Harris. Tensions between Haley and Trump have persisted, reported The Hill. In a recent interview on her SiriusXM show Nikki Haley Live, she reiterated her criticisms of Trump while defending her eventual decision to endorse him. “Politics is not for thin-skinned people…you must be able to put the personal part of it aside,” she said.
