GOPIO Webinar Explores AI’s Role In Daily Life

NEW YORK, NY – The Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) hosted an engaging webinar on August 9 titled “What AI Can Do For You?” The event brought together researchers, innovators, users, and thought leaders to discuss how artificial intelligence is transforming daily life across the globe.
Moderated by Kathirvel Kumararaja, Tech Entrepreneur and CEO of DevJee Inc., the session addressed practical AI applications, opportunities, and public concerns. Dr. Thomas Abraham, GOPIO’s Founder Chairman, emphasized the initiative’s purpose: “Our goal is to create a global platform that not only informs but equips the Indian diaspora to use AI in daily lives.”
Chief Guest Dr. Sam Pitroda, telecom pioneer and development thinker, highlighted the importance of harnessing AI for societal benefit. In conversation with Kumararaja, he urged the younger generation of AI researchers to focus on solving critical issues like hunger and poverty, stating, “The younger generation at the helm of AI research holds the key to shaping a future where technology is a force for good.”
Speakers included Dr. Siddhartha Dalal of Columbia University, who discussed emerging AI trends and entrepreneurial use-cases; Vatsala Upadhyay, Founder & CEO of AI Junoon, who likened AI to a pressure cooker that becomes indispensable once mastered; Rahul Shukla, President & CEO of S. S. White Technologies, who shared practical lessons from AI adoption; and Prashant Gupta, public policy advisor, who outlined a three-step approach to building effective AI solutions.
Key takeaways emphasized AI’s essential role in future industries, the need for smart adoption, and fostering AI as a tool for personal growth. GOPIO announced plans for monthly webinars, an international symposium on AI and quantum computing in 2026, and the expansion of chapters in Boston, Nashville, South Jersey, and Pune. The next webinar, “Ancient Wisdom – Modern Maladies,” is scheduled for September 13, 2025.
