IALA Announces New Team For 2023-2024 Term

NORTHRIDGE, CA — The India Association of Los Angeles (IALA) said in a press release it had unanimously elected Sunil Agrawal as its President and had formed a 17-member executive committee for the year 2023-2024.

Agrawal, an esteemed IT consultant, brings more than two decades of community service experience to the role. He previously served as President in 2018-19 and Chairman in 2019-202. Agrawal has made significant contributions to the community, including hosting premieres of movies such as “The Kashmir Files,” “The Vaccine War,” and “The Elevator” in Los Angeles. Additionally, he organized the widely acclaimed “Koun Banega Ramayan Expert” events in 2006 and 2008, engaging thousands of children across the USA. As a founding trustee of the Dharma Civilization Foundation since 2012, the press release said, he continues to play a pivotal role in shaping cultural initiatives.

The newly elected executive committee includes Pramesh Shah as the Executive VP, Kiran Kamboj as Secretary, Dhara Patel as Joint Secretary, Rajni Thakkar as Treasurer, Robin Paik as VP of Finance, Hezal Shah as VP of Cultural Affairs, Navdeep Singh as VP of Publicity, Sam Sidhu as VP Public Relations, Ramesh Brahmarouthu as VP Youth Affairs, Dr. Bama Sridhar as VP Health, and as Executive Members: Rajesh Khandelwal, Vasu Pawar, Manisha Makwana, Mohinder Kaur, and Promilla Sahni.

Since 1999, IALA has been organizing the India Independence Day Mela, drawing over 10,000 attendees, predominantly from the Indian community. This celebration provides a platform for community talent to showcase their skills in front of thousands. Past events have been graced by the presence of esteemed individuals, including Congressmen, the Indian Ambassador, and other dignitaries.
