In Washington, Khalistanis Threaten To Vandalize Embassy, Attack Journalist
WASHINGTON DC, (ANI) – Pro-Khalistan supporters loudly threatened to vandalize the Indian embassy here, while staging a protest in front of mission on March 25. They also threatened Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu and the personnel who work at the diplomatic postduring their protest on March 25.
“This hypocrisy comes to an end now…… There will come a day when the windows of your cars will break and you will have nowhere to run to,” they said.]
The hundreds of Khalistan supporters who had gathered claimed that the “Indian government is killing citizens from all communities all over the country,” and shouted slogans like, “Khalistan Zindabad”.
The protesters included turbaned men of all ages and included those from the DC-Maryland-Virginia area. The organizers used microphones to make anti-India speeches both in English and Punjabi and targeted the Punjab police for alleged human rights violations.
Journalist Attacked
Washington DC-based journalist Lalit Jha was physically attacked and verbally abused by the crowd while he was covering the protest.
Jha tweeted a video of the attack andthanked the US Secret Service for protecting him and helping him do his job. He said he was hit on his left ear with two sticks. He also shared a video of the Khalistani supporters on his Twitter handle. “Thank you @SecretService 4 my protection 2day 4 helping do my job, otherwise I would have been writing this from hospital. The gentleman below hit my left ear with these 2 sticks & earlier I had to call 9/11 & rushed 2 police van 4 safety fearing physical assault.”
“At one point I felt so threatened that I called 911. I then spotted Secret Service officers and narrated the incident to them,” Jha said.

The treatment of all Punjabis who have been domiciled in the State of Punjab must be assessed on merit principles instead of religious affiliations. I must say that Punjab has been discriminated against by all governments, including the Congress Party, BJP, Aam Adami, etc., etc. The development funds for the state were withheld, misspent, and shortchanged over the longest period of the history of Independent India. On a per capita basis, its infrastructure spending has been lower than the average of India. The people have been hoodwinked by the power structure in the country. The people of Punjab have been praised by words, but not by action and economic investments. Most people in the state lack institutions of education, transportation, health, and security. The government at the central level is run by Baniyas, tea sellers, and bean counters. There are hardly any statesmen left to articulate its philosophy of public management and the art of governing.
