It is a bit disheartening to hear about the politicization of sporting events. All sporting matches should be devoid of politics, because a political stage is more suitable for politicians than for sportspeople. Any political backdrop can tarnish the achievements of sporting participants and devalue the true accomplishments of the team. I hope the future events will be on friendlier platforms than they are at the moment. Sportsmanship is remembered for events creating peace, not hostilities between nations.
