India-US Army Holding Military Exercises In Rajasthan

BIKANER, (ANI) – India and US army personnel are participating in the 20th edition of the Joint Military Exercise ‘Yudh Abhyas 2024′ to strengthen interoperability and enhance synergy between the two nations’ forces. The training, which began on September 9 at the Foreign Training Node, Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan, will continue until September 22.

The Indian army released a video showcasing the joint training exercises, emphasizing the participation of troops from both nations.

On September 16, soldiers from both armies took a break to visit the historic Junagarh Fort in Bikaner. Around 600 US soldiers, who arrived in India for the exercise, were transported in groups by bus for a guided tour of the fort. The American troops were particularly impressed by the Badal Mahal, Ranivas, and artillery displays. The Indian army arranged guides to provide historical context for the visitors.

The exercise involves rehearsing tactical drills, including joint responses to terrorist actions, joint planning, and field training exercises that simulate real-world counter-terrorism missions.

The 14-day exercise includes the participation of approximately 600 troops from a battalion of the RAJPUT Regiment and other arms and services on the Indian side. The US contingent is represented by troops from the 1-24 Battalion of the Alaska-based 11th Airborne Division.
