ALPHARETTA, GA – Sudhakar Gogireddy, 34, of Alpharetta, was among twelve men apprehended in Cherokee County during “Operation Phantom Whisper,” a multi-agency sting targeting child exploitation. The three-day operation, which concluded on July 17 involved investigators posing online as underage girls to arrange meetings with suspects.

Gogireddy faces charges of trafficking a person for sexual servitude, using a computer to entice a child for an illegal act, and a slew of other accusations. He is currently being held without bond, with an ICE hold placed on him.

The sting, spearheaded by the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, partnered with Homeland Security Investigations-Atlanta, Gwinnett County Police, Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, Grovetown Police Department, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Cherokee County Sheriff Frank Reynolds emphasized the commitment to child safety, stating, “The arrests of these individuals send a strong message that we will not tolerate those who prey on our most vulnerable population.”

Eleven of the twelve men arrested, including Gogireddy, traveled to Cherokee County with the alleged intent to engage in sexual activity with someone they believed to be a 14-year-old girl. One additional individual was arrested at his home on child pornography charges.
