Indian Family Killed In Fiery Crash During US Road Trip
DALLAS, TX (IANS)- A family of four from Hyderabad met a tragic end during a road trip in the United States when their car was struck head-on by a mini truck allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire, killing all occupants on the spot.
The victims have been identified as Venkat Bejugam, his wife Tejaswini Cholleti, and their children, Siddarth and Mrida Bejugam. Originally from the Suchitra area of Secunderabad, the family had been living in Sutton Fields, a residential community in Aubrey, Texas, near Dallas.
The fatal crash occurred while the family was returning to Dallas after visiting relatives in Atlanta. Due to the extent of the fire damage, U.S. authorities have launched forensic procedures—including dental and DNA analysis—to formally confirm the victims’ identities before releasing the remains.
TEAM Aid, a nonprofit organization that assists expatriates during emergencies, is working with friends and relatives to manage logistics. “The remains will be repatriated to Hyderabad for the final rites,” a TEAM Aid representative confirmed. “DNA confirmation is currently underway, and once complete, the bodies will be handed over to the family.”
Authorities are continuing investigations into the accident and completing formalities related to identification and repatriation. More details are expected in the coming days.
