Indian Groups Take Part In Arlington Heights Memorial Day Parade

CHICAGO, IL – Federation of Indian Associations (FIA)-Chicago participated in the Memorial Day Parade in Arlington Heights on May 25, joining local residents, veterans, and community organizations in honoring U.S. service members who lost their lives in military service.

Organizers noted that Arlington Heights has lost 67 residents in service to the nation, making the annual parade an important part of the town’s Memorial Day observance.

FIA-Chicago led participation from the Indian American community, with several community leaders and organizations taking part in the event.

Representatives from the Federation of Indian Associations, Sanatan Ecosystem, Sewa International, Global Indian Diaspora, Shree Jalaram Mandir, Maharashtra Mandal, Overseas Friends of BJP, Ekal Vidyalaya, Vishva Hindu Parishad of America, Karni Sena, and Hindu Women Network were among those in attendance, along with several community leaders.

A key part of the delegation’s participation was the presence of Indian Army Brigadier Navin Ahuja and Indian Army veteran Arvind Ankleshwaria. According to organizers, the two veterans were recognized by the parade committee along with active-duty and retired military personnel during the Memorial Day tribute.
