Indian Tricolor Unfurled At San Francisco City Hall

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – In a momentous celebration of the 75th Republic Day of India, the City and County of San Francisco organized a special event at the iconic San Francisco City Hall. The ceremony, attended by Chief of Protocol Maryam Muduroglu and other distinguished guests, was marked by the unfurling of the Indian flag by Consul General Dr. K. Srikar Reddy.

San Francisco city Mayor London N. Breed issued a proclamation declaring January 26, 2024, as “Indian-American Friendship and Heritage Day.” The proclamation, those in attendance said, serves as a testament to the enduring friendship between India and the United Statesnity.

During the ceremony both,  Reddy and Muduroglu delivered speeches, shedding light on the robust relations between India and the United States. They also underscored the significant contributions of the Indian community in the San Francisco region, emphasizing their role in fostering cultural exchange.

Earlier in the day, a Flag Hoisting Ceremony took place at the Gadar Memorial.
