India’s IT Sector Influence On Display At NY Consulate Event

NEW YORK, NY -The global influence of India’s IT sector was the focus of an event held on August 29, hosted jointly by the Indian Consulate in New York and the ITServe Alliance. This marked the first-ever collaboration of its kind at the consulate. Ambassador Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, Consul General of India, underscored the industry’s critical role, calling it “a critical element” in the bilateral trade and relationship between the U.S. and India.

The event highlighted the contributions of Indian-American IT companies to both the U.S. and Indian economies. Ambassador Pradhan, a career diplomat who previously helped establish India’s first overseas IIT campus in Tanzania, praised ITServe and its 2,200 member companies for their efforts in fostering stronger ties between the two nations. He added, “This is a moment of pride for me that we are doing the first event after 15 years of your existence.”

ITServe leaders outlined the organization’s three main objectives: protecting small and medium-sized IT firms, offering a platform for business at minimal cost, and helping member companies expand. Vallabhaneni, a representative from ITServe, emphasized, “At ITServe, we are the voice of prestigious IT companies across the United States.”

The New York chapter of ITServe also demonstrated its commitment to the community by donating $5,000 to CUNY College in New York for STEM education. This initiative, according to New York chapter leader Baswa Shaker Shamshabad, showcased the chapter’s “remarkable leadership and innovation.”

The event concluded with a focus on future collaboration and the ongoing impact of the Indian IT diaspora, reinforcing its role as a vital force in the global technology landscape.
