Irvine, CA Declares March 14 “Holi Day”

IRVINE, CA– The City of Irvine officially proclaimed March 14, 2025, as “Holi Day” to celebrate the vibrant Hindu festival of colors.
Mayor Larry Agran signed the proclamation on March 11, recognizing Holi’s significance in promoting unity, renewal, and cultural appreciation.
By officially recognizing Holi, the city of Irvine “aims to foster cross-cultural understanding and strengthen its diverse community,” it said on its website.
At a meeting in city hall on March 11 when the proclamation was adopted, Indian American city residents were present.
