Jain Center Holds Free Medical Camp

BUENA PARK, CA – Despite perfect beach weather during the long weekend, many people prioritized their health and visited the Anekant Community Center for a free health fair on July 6. The event saw a turnout of 108 individuals registered for comprehensive checkups, with approximately 45 having pre-registered online.

This free health fair, organized by the Jain temple here and Anekant Community Center, offered a variety of medical specialties. Services included bone density assessments, COPD testing, eye checkups, diabetes, cholesterol, and hemoglobin testing. Lestonnac Free Clinic provided a complete dental setup, conducting 34 dental exams and screenings, with 18 patients receiving cavity fillings or extractions.

Over 60 volunteers contributed to the success of the health fair. Vegetarian breakfast and lunch were provided for all volunteers, professionals, and participants.

Dr. Ramesh Kothari highlighted the long-standing tradition of the event, stating, “We have been providing these services to bring health awareness to the community for more than 33 years at no charge, and we look forward to continuing this tradition every year.”
