MUMBAI (ANI)- Kareena Kapoor Khan shared one of the most memorable moments of her career during a panel discussion at WAVES 2025, moderated by filmmaker Karan Johar.
Recounting a chance encounter with legendary Hollywood director Steven Spielberg, Kareena said the moment took place shortly after the release of her film 3 Idiots, which also starred Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi.
“I was at a restaurant while travelling, and Spielberg happened to be there too,” she recalled. “This was many moons ago, around the time 3 Idiots had just come out. He actually walked up to me and asked, ‘Are you the girl in that very famous Indian film about three students?’ I said, ‘Yes, it’s me!’ He replied, ‘My God, I loved that movie.’”
When asked about exploring opportunities in Hollywood, Kareena responded, “It’s just something that hasn’t happened organically. Films are my passion—they run in my veins. I was born into this industry. Times are changing, and you never know. I’ve never been one to chase things, but if it’s meant to be, maybe a Hindi-English film will come my way. After all, even Spielberg is watching our movies!”
WAVES 2025, the four-day global event, running from May 1 to 4, has drawn over 10,000 delegates.
