LandTek Group To Build Second Cricket Pitch For T20 World Cup

BAY SHORE, NY – Broward County Stadium in Central Broward Park is one of three US sites that will host the Men’s T20 World Cup this year. LandTek is now building two out of three of the pitches for the US sites, the first being at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in East Meadow, NY. Eight matches will be played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium and four at Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill.

LandTek in a press release said, since much of the game is played on the pitch, there is a huge focus on how it performs. Using the same Bermudagrass variety, Tahoma 31, that was utilized for the Nassau County stadium, LandTek has meticulously acquired, washed, and installed the sod for Broward County. This process is unique to cricket and is designed to delude the root zone into integrating with the new clay surface, enhancing root development. Further, a specific fertility package has been meticulously applied to safeguard against fungus and insects and provide the correct elements for strong grass growth, it said.
