Lyricist Sameer Shares Stories Behind Bollywood Songs
NEW DELHI -In “Lyrics by Sameer: Stories Behind the Iconic Songs,” the renowned Bollywood lyricist Sameer Anjaan collaborates with screenwriter Shuja Ali to reveal anecdotes from the film industry. The book features up to 50 stories behind some of Sameer’s most popular compositions, including the title track of Dhoom.
The book reveals little-known facts, such as how music director Shravan (of Nadeem-Shravan) initially refused to let a young Ajay Devgn into the studio, believing he wasn’t “hero material,” until Sameer intervened.
It also recounts how the signature tune for the Dhoom title track was initially rejected by Aditya Chopra.
The co-authors provide an exclusive glimpse into the making of some of Sameer’s most iconic songs over his three-decade career. Sameer holds a Guinness World Record for his more than 640 films and 4,500 songs. (IANS)
