Man Sentenced 35 Years For Sexual Exploitation Of Children
India-West News Desk
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An Indian national residing in Oklahoma, United States, has been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting multiple children through a social media application. Sai Kumar Kurremula, 31, who was in the US on an immigrant visa, will also be subject to lifetime supervision upon his release, according to a court ruling.
A judge determined that Kurremula deceptively posed as a young teenager online to establish trust with his victims. He subsequently engaged in threats and blackmail, using child pornography to coerce them into complying with his demands when they resisted.
Court documents revealed that Kurremula utilized an online messaging app to exploit at least 19 young individuals. His modus operandi involved creating a false persona of a boy aged between 13 and 15 to gain the confidence of his targets. When the children did not adhere to his instructions, he resorted to manipulation, threats, and attempts to solicit further child pornography.
In one documented instance, Kurremula threatened to visit a victim’s home and expose her parents to explicit images of her. He also threatened harm to another victim’s family and threatened to publicly disseminate sexually explicit images of a third individual.
Kurremula admitted in court to sexually exploiting three children and knowingly distributing child pornography.
The US Attorney for the case, Robert Troester, condemned Kurremula’s actions as “appalling” and asserted that the lengthy prison sentence was fully justified. He emphasized that individuals who exploit children online will face severe consequences under the law.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, which conducted the investigation, characterized Kurremula’s actions as “disgusting” and highlighted the significant harm inflicted on the victims.
