Manish Malhotra Designed Blue Lehenga Still A Sangeet Favorite

MUMBAI (ANI) – Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan-starrer ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho,’ released over two decades ago, remains a beloved film. Its blend of romance, humor, heartwarming messages, performances, and music made it stand out.

The songs, especially ‘Maahi Ve,’ have been a staple at Indian wedding festivities since 2003. The visuals of Preity Zinta in a beautiful blue lehenga with silver embroidery are iconic.

Ace designer Manish Malhotra created this memorable offbeat blue lehenga.

The nude and blue lehenga perfectly complemented the song, inspiring many real-life brides for pre-wedding functions.

On April 22, Manish Malhotra recalled designing the blue lehenga, sharing his original sketch.

“It was my first time bringing this combination of nude and blue to the big screen, and it’s still one of my most popular designs. It felt fresh yet timeless. Even today, it’s a favorite for sangeets – elegant, effortless, and perfect for any celebration,” Manish said.

In the film, Preity Zinta accessorized the blue lehenga with a maang tikka and silver jewelry.
