Men’s Fashion: From Wife-Picked To Self-Styled
JAIPUR (ANI)- Men’s fashion has undergone a remarkable transformation, according to designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. Reflecting on their journey in the industry, the duo recalled a time when men had little knowledge about fashion and often relied on their wives to choose their outfits.
“We were the first designers in the country to have a men’s show. Back then, men had no idea what to wear, and their wives would collect their clothes. Now, men know exactly what they want—they are trendy, they are cool. Everything was about women till now. So yes, men deserve it,” said Rohit Gandhi.
They also emphasized how modern men are now more open to experimenting with their clothing choices. “Men are experimental now. They want to wear something different. They don’t want to stick to traditional sherwanis. This shift is actually driving growth in the market,” Gandhi added.
The designers recently unveiled their latest Spring-Summer 2025 menswear collection, Akoya, which draws inspiration from Jaipur, a city known for its rich heritage and grandeur.
“We were thinking about contemporary wedding fashion. The wedding season is coming up, destination weddings are happening, and most of them are in Jaipur. The city itself was an inspiration,” said Rahul Khanna.
The collection features a refined color palette with shades like mocha, ivory, and architectural neutrals, blending regal aesthetics with contemporary minimalism. Models walked the ramp in reimagined matador jackets, relaxed-fit trousers, and lightweight silk ensembles, offering a fresh take on modern menswear.
