Mindy Kaling Narrates Dunkin’ Holiday Story

BOSTON, MA – Dunkin’ is debuting a new children’s book and animated story, ‘The Little Holiday Munchkin’, narrated by Emmy-nominated writer, producer, and director Mindy Kaling, to support the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation.

The story centers on a tiny munchkin donut hole treat and its journey of finding belonging and joy, reinforcing the message that sometimes “the smallest part is the best part.” A portion of the proceeds, $2 from every book sold and up to $550,000, will benefit the Foundation, which works to bring joy to children battling hunger or illness.

The animation, featuring Kaling’s signature voice, is available on Dunkin’s YouTube channel and social platforms.

“Dunkin’ munchkins are a favorite in my house, so this was kind of a no brainer for me,” said Mindy Kaling. “What I love about this story is how it celebrates the overlooked things that end up being the most special. I’m a sucker for an underdog and for the holidays, so this book is definitely earning a spot in our bedtime story rotation.”

The book’s festive, storybook-style design is consistent with Dunkin’s recently unveiled holiday packaging, which was also inspired by the munchkins donut hole treats.

To extend the fun, the book concludes with a recipe for munchkins bread pudding that families can make at home. Additionally, Dunkin’ is releasing limited-edition munchkins-inspired merchandise at DunkinRunsOnMerch.com.
