Modi Dials Trump, And President-Elect Lavishes Praise On Him

NEW DELHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi called President-elect Donald Trump to congratulate him on his victory in the American presidential election and praised the Republican Party’s success in the Congressional elections.

Trump, sources told the media, expressed admiration for India and Modi, stating, “The whole world loves PM Modi,” and calling India “a magnificent country” and Modi “a magnificent man.”

Trump is said to have emphasized his strong friendship with Modi, noting that Modi was among the first world leaders he spoke to after his victory.

After the call, Modi posted on X, “Had a great conversation with my friend, President Donald Trump, congratulating him on his spectacular victory. Looking forward to working closely together once again to further strengthen India-U.S. relations across technology, defense, energy, space, and other key sectors.”
