NEW DELHI (ANI) – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 13 lauded the Indian Armed Forces for making history through their precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) under Operation Sindoor, declaring that these actions had shattered Islamabad’s “nuclear blackmail.”
While addressing air warriors and soldiers at the Air Force Station in Adampur, PM Modi said, “When India’s missiles hit their targets, the enemy hears ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.”
His visit came a day after his national address, where he had asserted that India “will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail” and “will strike precisely and decisively at terrorist hideouts operating under its cover.”
Following India’s precision response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives, Pakistan retaliated with military aggression. However, the Indian Armed Forces effectively repelled these attacks and struck back by pounding Pakistani airbases. Subsequently, both nations reached an understanding to cease hostilities, following a request for dialogue made by the Pakistani Director General of Military Operations to his Indian counterpart.
PM Modi, praising the bravery and precision of the forces, said:
“When our drones breach the enemy’s fortresses, when our missiles strike with a whizzing sound, the enemy hears ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. When we light up the night like the sun, the enemy sees ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. When our forces blow away the threat of nuclear blackmail, there’s only one cry resonating in the skies – ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
You have made millions of Indians proud. You have made every Indian mother proud. You have created history. I am here this morning to honor and salute you.”
Emphasizing the patriotic spirit behind the slogan, he added:
“‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ echoes not just in the battlefield but in every mission. When Indian soldiers chant ‘Maa Bharati’, it sends chills down the spine of the enemy. It is the resolve of every soldier willing to sacrifice for the country, and the voice of every citizen who lives to serve the nation.”
Referring to Pakistan’s retaliation after Operation Sindoor, PM Modi revealed that Adampur airbase was among the targets.
“Shaken by Operation Sindoor, the enemy attempted to strike this airbase and several others multiple times. But their sinister plans failed each time,” he said.
“I can proudly say that our forces hit their targets with precision. In Pakistan, not only were terrorist camps and airbases destroyed, but so were their malicious intentions and arrogance.”
