Mukesh Khanna Bringing Superhero To Indian Screens
MUMBAI (ANI) – Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, famous for bringing India’s original superhero Shaktimaan to life, thrilled fans by announcing the iconic character’s return to Indian screens. Speaking about his deep connection to the role, Khanna shared his excitement, saying, “This is a costume within me… I did well as Shaktimaan because it came from within. Acting is all about confidence. I forget about the camera when I am shooting… I am even happier than others about becoming Shaktimaan again.”
On reprising Shaktimaan for a new generation, he reflected, “I am carrying out my duty that I started in 1997 and continued until 2005. I believe my work should reach the public in 2027 because today’s generation is running blindly. They need to be stopped and reminded to take a breath.”
On Sunday, Khanna shared a poster and teaser video on Instagram, offering fans a glimpse of Shaktimaan’s comeback. In the video, Shaktimaan is seen flying and landing in a school, singing about freedom while looking at pictures of Indian freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, and Subhash Chandra Bose. “It’s Time for HIM to RETURN,” read his post, describing Shaktimaan as a “Super Teacher-Super Hero” returning to guide the new generation against darkness and evil.
Originally aired in 1997 on Doordarshan, Shaktimaan became a national sensation, running for over 450 episodes and leaving a lasting legacy for millions of fans.
