Mumbai Choreographer Rajit Dev Leads FIFA 2026 Anthem Project
MUMBAI– Choreographer Rajit Dev has directed and choreographed the official anthem for the FIFA World Cup 2026, titled ‘Siir Siir’, which features actress Nora Fatehi. The music video is scheduled to be showcased during the tournament’s opening ceremony.
Directed by Moroccan filmmaker Abderafia, the music video was filmed across various locations in Morocco, including the city of Casablanca and the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. The anthem features French artist Vegedream and music producer Sanjoy.
Reflecting on the international project, Rajit Dev stated, “For two decades I’ve been dancing, watching international artists perform and dreaming big. To now have choreographed the FIFA 2026 Official Anthem starring Nora Fatehi, French artist Vegedream, and music producer Sanjoy—a song the entire world will see, choreographed by an Indian—that gives me immense pride.”
He added, “It’s a full-circle moment. The boy from Mumbai who started dancing, wanting to choreograph and direct, is now representing India on one of the biggest global stages, with Team RDX, my dancers, right there in the video with me. FIFA has opened doors for me in the West and beyond, and my goal stays the same: to take Indian dance, infuse it with my signature style, and show the world our rhythm belongs everywhere.”
Beyond this project, Dev has directed and choreographed global events including the FIFA Fan Festival in Qatar 2022, the ICC World Cup Opening Ceremony 2026, and the Untold Festival in Dubai 2025. In his domestic career, he has worked with prominent Bollywood actors and choreographed hit songs such as ‘Morni’, ‘Zaalim’, and ‘Bijlee Bijlee’. He is currently serving as an associate choreographer to Vaibhavi Merchant on an upcoming film. (IANS)
