NEW YORK, NY -Padma Lakshmi, 54, recently posted a series of photos and a video on Instagram, showing her on a beach in a hot pink bikini. The post quickly drew praise from fans, with many commenting on her enduring confidence and beauty.

The positive reception from fans aligns with Lakshmi’s own public statements on aging and body image. In an interview with People, she revealed that her relationship with her body has evolved, stating, “I feel more confident today than I did when I actually looked perkier, tighter, smaller, in my twenties.” She emphasized the importance of self-acceptance, noting that she asks photographers not to edit out her scars and stretch marks, wanting them included “because I have them.”

Lakshmi further explained her mindset by telling the outlet she wouldn’t trade her current self for her younger self. “I wouldn’t change having that body and that resume of that 23-year-old, with having the resume I do at 53 with the body of a 53-year-old,” she said. “I would much rather stay right where I am. I think that’s really important to tell girls and young women. But that’s really what gave me confidence.”

Last year, the model and host also spoke to Us Weekly about her sexuality, telling the publication, “Look, I’m at my sexual peak… I am. And I feel great about that.” She noted that she is now free of the fears she once had as a young woman from a “very conservative South Indian family,” recalling how she was “terrified that my grandfather was going to see those Helmut Newton pictures,” referring to a past lingerie shoot.
