MUMBAI (ANI)- Paresh Rawal has officially confirmed his exit from the upcoming comedy ‘Hera Pheri 3’ through a post on X, sparking disappointment among fans.
Earlier this year, director Priyadarshan announced the film was in development, reuniting the iconic trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. Rawal’s departure, however, shocked fans who were eager to see him reprise his beloved role as Babu Bhaiya.
Speculation had pointed to creative differences as the reason for his exit, but Rawal addressed these rumors on May 18, stating, “I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences.” He added, “I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENTS WITH THE FILMMAKER. I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan, the film’s director.”
The actor’s statement led to further questions and discussions online, with fans wondering if issues like typecasting or production disputes influenced his decision. Comments ranged from concerns about him avoiding the “Babu Bhaiya” image to speculation about contract or creative dissatisfaction.
Paresh Rawal’s portrayal of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, affectionately known as Babu Bhaiya, has been a beloved comic role in Indian cinema for over two decades. The original Hera Pheri, directed by Priyadarshan, released in 2000, was followed by a successful sequel in 2006, directed by Neeraj Vora, starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, Bipasha Basu, Rajpal Yadav, and Rimi Sen.
