WASHINGTON, DC – Top donors to US President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration committee will have exclusive opportunities to dine with him and his wife, Melania Trump, ahead of the oath ceremony at the US Capitol on January 20 in Washington DC. As reported by The New York Times, money is being raised in increments as high as $2 million for the event, with a flier titled “Trump Vance Inaugural Committee Benefits” detailing the perks of donating $1 million or raising $2 million.

Those reaching this elite donation level will receive six tickets to attend eight exclusive inaugural events, scheduled from January 17 to January 20. One major highlight of the event schedule is a reception with all of Trump’s cabinet picks, along with a dinner with US Vice President-elect JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, on January 18. However, the “pinnacle event” is an elegant, intimate dinner with President Trump and Melania Trump, set for January 19.

This announcement comes after Melania Trump had not initially confirmed her attendance at the inaugural festivities, including a Sunday morning interfaith service, which she now plans to attend with her husband. On Inauguration Day, January 20, major donors will be provided with six tickets each to the grand event.

Donors and corporations typically contribute to presidential inaugural committees to show support for the incoming president and to potentially seek future favors from the administration. Though there are no donation limits for the Trump inauguration committee, any gifts above $200 must be disclosed to the Federal Election Commission.

Trump’s inaugural committee during his first term raised $107 million in 2016 and 2017 but faced scrutiny over illegal foreign donations, resulting in a 12-year prison sentence for one donor. The current committee is led by real estate mogul Steven Witkoff, who has donated $2 million to Trump’s political causes, alongside former Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler. Trump continues to raise funds for his political endeavors, with a major fundraising event planned for December 19 at his Mar-a-Lago club, where tickets are priced at $1 million per person.
