Payal Kapadia’s Golden Globe Nominated Film To Stream On Disney

NEW DELHI, (ANI): Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine as Light is set to kick start its digital journey on Disney+ Hotstar, streaming from January 3.

The film, an official Indo-French co-production between Petit Chaos from France and Chalk & Cheese and Another Birth from India, recently garnered two nominations at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards: Best Director for Kapadia and Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language.

Expressing her excitement, Kapadia said, “I am thrilled and deeply grateful for the love All We Imagine as Light has received from all of you.”

The film follows Prabha, a troubled nurse who receives an unexpected gift from her estranged husband, and Anu, her young roommate navigating her relationship with her boyfriend. A trip to a beach town provides a backdrop for the characters to confront their desires.

Featuring a stellar cast from Kerala, including Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, and Hridhu Haroon, the movie has already made waves on the global stage. It premiered in the competition section of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival on May 23, marking the first Indian film to feature in the main segment in 30 years. The last Indian entry was Shaji N. Karun’s Swaham in 1994.

In December, Kapadia made history as the first Indian director to be nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Director, cementing a golden moment in Indian cinema.
