Politicians Line Up Behind ‘Sabarmati Report’
MUMBAI, (ANI) – The recently released film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ is making waves across the country, with high-profile screenings and endorsements from key political figures and film industry veterans.
Ektaa Kapoor, the producer of the film, said, “I am overwhelmed by the response. Such esteemed personalities are watching the movie today. I am happy as well as nervous. But this film has been made from the heart. It is a factual film, based on true events… I think people will like it.”
‘The Sabarmati Report’, directed by Dheeraj Sarna, delves into the 2002 Godhra train coach-burning incident, which led to widespread riots in Gujarat.
The film presents a critical look at the tragic event, offering a narrative that counters the distorted versions of history propagated by some elements at the time. The movie’s impact extends beyond the film industry, with political figures acknowledging its historical significance.
Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced on social media that the state government has decided to make ‘The Sabarmati Report’ tax-free.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav spoke to actor Vikrant Massey and congratulated him for his work in it. “We have also made this film tax free in Madhya Pradesh. Today, I am going to watch this film with all my cabinet ministers,” he posted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also weighed in on the film’s significance:”It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period. Eventually, the facts will always come out!”
Actor Riddhi Dogra, who plays a key role in the film, expressed her gratitude for the Prime Minister’s praise, calling it “the biggest reward” for the entire team. “I am very humble and speechless,” she added.
In addition to the praise from Prime Minister Modi, ‘The Sabarmati Report’ has also garnered the attention of other prominent political figures.
Actor Vikrant Massey, a member of the film’s cast, recently met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow.
Following their meeting, Yogi Adityanath shared a picture with Massey on social media, expressing his admiration for the film.
