MUMBAI (ANI)- Actor and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has donated Rs 1 crore to the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) under the Indian Army’s South Western Command.
Her generous contribution comes in response to the launch of India’s Operation Sindoor.
“Our Indian Army is not only valiant but the families behind them are even braver and stronger. This is a small token of our gratitude,” she said. Preity described the emotional experience of visiting the South Western Command auditorium. She reflected on the stories and sacrifices of the soldiers and their families. “As I drove towards the auditorium, I saw posters of army officers and jawans who won bravery awards—some laid down their lives while others returned with scars. These men are husbands, sons, brothers, and fathers who gave their today for our tomorrow.”
She added, “At the event, I met the women who live with the pain of missing their loved ones every day. I saw their children’s smiles. There were no complaints, only pride, strength, and sacrifice. The bravery in that room humbled me beyond words. It was an honor to share the stage with these Veer Naris and their families.”
