Queens College And ‘Sammaan for All’ Launch Scholarship For High-Achieving Students

FLUSHING, NY- The Queens College Foundation has established the ‘Sammaan for All’ Scholarship to provide financial assistance to students from lower-economic backgrounds, marking a new initiative focused on expanding access to education.

Founded by Neeta Bhasin, founder of the nonprofit ‘Sammaan for All’ and a South Asian marketing professional, the scholarship was formally introduced during a ceremony at Queens College on April 22.

Bhasin, joined by her husband Harish Bhasin and ‘Sammaan for All’ Vice President Rita Suri, met with the inaugural group of five student recipients during the event.

Frank H. Wu, President of Queens College, acknowledged the initiative at the ceremony. “The scholarship not only provides financial assistance but also reflects a meaningful investment in students’ futures,” Wu said.

The 2026 recipients were selected based on academic excellence, leadership potential, and diverse backgrounds. They include Rishayna Rokib (Macaulay Honors, undeclared), Ravneet Singh (Economics), Adnaan Ali (Sociology and Political Science), Jennifer Chen (Environmental Science), and Elijah Agard (Computer Science).

The scholarship is part of ‘Sammaan for All’s broader focus on supporting individuals from underserved communities through access to education and opportunities for long-term stability.
