Raghav Chadha Reveals Scindia Coached Him Through Initial Political Defeat
NEW DELHI- Member of Parliament Raghav Chadha shared an anecdote from his early political career, revealing that senior leader Jyotiraditya Scindia offered him support following his first electoral defeat.
Speaking at a fireside chat during the FICCI Young Leaders Summit 2025 in Mumbai, Chadha recounted the supportive words. “After I lost my first election and was dejected, it was Jyotiraditya Scindia who consoled me. He told me that it’s fine and that defeat is not the end of the world,” Chadha stated, according to a press release from the event.
The young MP also addressed the initial resistance from his family regarding his career choice. He noted that his mother, in particular, was hesitant about him joining politics. “Coming from a middle-class family, especially my mother, who never wanted me to join politics, I had to convince her for 4-5 months before she agreed to let me contest the election,” he added.
The fireside chat, which was titled “Leading Change: A Conversation with Raghav Chadha on Vision, Youth & the Future of India,” was part of the FICCI Young Leaders Forum (YLF) event. (ANI)
