LOS ANGELES, CA – Indian American singer and songwriter Raja Kumari has a new couture collaboration with Mumbai-based label Kalki Fashion, bringing together music, fashion, and cultural identity.
The collection released in tandem with a reimagined version of her track “LA India,” which serves as both inspiration and soundtrack. A music video accompanying the launch integrates the garments into its visual narrative, positioning fashion as an extension of Kumari’s broader artistic expression.
Describing the collaboration as a celebration of identity, power, and heritage, Kumari said the collection is intended for women who embrace boldness and individuality.
The pieces range from contemporary takes on traditional lehengas to structured corseted gowns, reflecting her global desi sensibility.
“This collection is a celebration of identity, power, and heritage. We’ve created something for the main characters, the rule-breakers, the glam goddesses,” Kumari said. “This is Desi luxury on a global frequency. I hope every woman who wears these pieces feels seen, celebrated, and unstoppable.”
As co-creator, Kumari contributed her perspective to the design process, aiming to reinterpret Indian fashion through a lens shaped by diaspora and performance. The collection draws on traditional Indian craftsmanship while incorporating silhouettes and styling familiar to international couture runways.
With an emphasis on inclusivity, the collaboration champions visibility for women of all body types and backgrounds. Each piece is designed to empower, blending historic references with modern edge.
This marks a natural extension of Kumari’s creative work, aligning fashion with the themes she explores in her music: self-expression, heritage, and cultural duality.
