MUMBAI- Actress Sanya Thakur made a traditional Indian-inspired appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, drawing attention for a red carpet look influenced by the imagery of Radha Rani and elements of Sanatan culture.
Known for her roles in films such as ‘Super 30’ and ‘Spy,’ Thakur attended the festival in a heavily embroidered lehenga featuring mirror work, floral patterns, and traditional Indian craftsmanship.
Her styling included braided hair decorated with flowers and lights, along with traditional jewelry such as a maang tikka, bangles, and a nose ring. Carrying a flute as part of the presentation, Thakur referenced Radha Rani-inspired symbolism during her Cannes appearance.
Speaking about the look, Thakur said it was intended to reflect “peace, positivity, love, and cultural pride.” She added that Indian spirituality and Sanatan values have the ability to connect audiences globally.
The appearance drew attention across social media, where users and fashion-focused accounts discussed the blend of Indian traditional styling and spiritual themes on the Cannes red carpet.
During the festival, Thakur also unveiled the poster of her upcoming project ‘Save The God’ at the Bharat Pavilion.
