CHICAGO, IL —Bestselling author Sonali Dev, celebrated for her witty and emotionally rich storytelling, is set to release her new novel, ‘How Simi Got Her Groom Back’, on March 3, 2026, from Lake Union.

Dev, the acclaimed author of ‘There’s Something About Mira’, ‘The Vibrant Years’, and ‘Pride and Prejudice and Other Flavors’, brings her signature blend of humor and heart to this new story featuring multidimensional South Asian characters.

In ‘How Simi Got Her Groom Back’, Dev presents what she terms “a green card marriage book that turned into a story about the love between two sisters.” The novel centers on sisters Simi and Rupi Naik. After fleeing a traumatic past in Mumbai, they work to build new lives in the U.S. When Rupi, a tattoo artist, faces deportation, Simi devises a desperate strategy: convincing the man she is secretly dating to enter a marriage of convenience with her sister. The resulting narrative is an emotional yet comedic journey through family bonds, hidden secrets, and personal self-discovery.

Dev, who resides in Chicago, started writing as a child in Mumbai and has since become a leading voice in contemporary romance. Her work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, NPR, Marie Claire, BookRiot, and Shondaland and critics have called her writing “a cozy cup of chai for the soul” (Kirkus Reviews) and “a warm hug in book form” (Marie Claire).

‘How Simi Got Her Groom Back’ will be released in hardcover, paperback, eBook, and audiobook formats.
