
Sripriya Ranganathan Bids Farewell As India’s Deputy Ambassador

WASHINGTON, DC – Sripriya Ranganathan has completed her tenure as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Washington, D.C., calling the experience “an incredible ride.” In a farewell post on LinkedIn, she reflected on her time working with U.S. government officials to strengthen India-U.S. ties and expressed deep gratitude for the friendships she built, both professionally and personally.
Ranganathan highlighted key diplomatic initiatives launched during her tenure, including the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET), the Strategic Trade Dialogue, and collaborations on renewable energy, semiconductors, and defense. She noted that these efforts continued to expand, shaping the future of the bilateral relationship.
Beyond diplomacy, Ranganathan spoke of the personal connections she made, particularly with the Indian-American community, which she said had welcomed her with “friendship and affection.” She also cherished the opportunity to reconnect with extended family in the U.S. and visit her daughter, who is studying in an American school.
As she moves on to her next role at the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, Ranganathan expressed confidence that the partnerships and relationships she helped build in Washington will continue to thrive. “The world is big and small at the same time,” she wrote, adding that she hopes to meet many of her colleagues and friends again in the future.
