SRK, Bumrah Delighted With Special Shout-Outs From Chris Martin At Mumbai Concerts

MUMBAI, (ANI) –  Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who received a special shout-out from Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin during the band’s concerts in Mumbai on January 18 and 19, expressed his excitement about the mention.

On January 20, Bumrah took to Instagram to share his gratitude. “This made me smile! Incredible vibe at the @coldplay concert in Mumbai (from what I’ve seen here) and even more special to be mentioned,” he wrote.

During the first night of the concert, Martin surprised the audience by mentioning Bumrah’s name. He said, “Hold on, we have to finish the show because Jasprit Bumrah wants to come and play backstage.” After thanking the fans, Martin added, “He (Bumrah) says he needs to bowl at me now.”

The crowd, mostly cricket fans, reacted enthusiastically, with many assuming Bumrah might appear on stage. While he didn’t show up, Martin’s shout-out to the star cricketer earned a loud cheer from the audience.

On the second day, Martin again gave a nod to Bumrah, this time playing a clip of his iconic dismissal of England’s Ollie Pope during the 2024 home series. Martin also took a moment to honor Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

As Coldplay performed, the stadium went dark, and in the midst of the music, Martin said, “Shah Rukh Khan forever. Go.” In response, Khan shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, calling Martin “one in a billion.” He wrote, “Look at the stars…look how they shine for you….and everything you do! My brother Chris Martin, you make me feel special…. like your songs!! Love you and a big hug to your team. You are one in a billion, my friend. India loves you, @coldplay!!!”
