The book, based on extensive interviews and insider accounts, suggests that the former U.S. president and Putin maintained a secretive relationship, even after Trump left the White House.

According to Woodward, Trump sent several COVID-19 test machines to Putin in 2020. As expected, the Trump campaign strongly condemned the claims made in War. Steven Cheung, Trump’s campaign communications director, dismissed Woodward’s allegations, calling them fabrications. “None of these made-up stories by Bob Woodward are true,” Cheung said. “Woodward is an angry, little man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
