MUMBAI (ANI)- After the roaring success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is back in action with Jaat, an intense pan-India thriller slated to release on April 10in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.

The film also stars Randeep Hooda, Viineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Jagapathi Babu, and Ramya Krishna.

Sunny opened up about the nerves that still accompany every release, and his approach to criticism, even after four decades in cinema.

“There is always tension, always fear,” he admitted. Despite the love the trailer has received, Sunny remains grounded: “If the film gets the same love and support, it will be appreciated.”

Reflecting on criticism, Sunny recalled how it affected him earlier in his career: Earlier, when people wrote anything, I didn’t like it… but I never went to my father.” Instead, he turned inward, learning to differentiate between criticism and his own understanding of his craft. “I don’t take those opinions seriously. I know what I am doing, what I have to do.”

While he respects feedback, it’s the audience that matters most: “Cinema is made for the audience. They watch it, they like it—that is what matters.”

Sunny also spoke about his famously fiery temper—on-screen and off. “Anger will always be anger,” he said. “In real life, I try to control it… but when it comes, you’ll see it on my face.”

From Betaab to Jaat, Sunny reflected on his growth as an artist: “I was 21-24 years old, now I’m 67. A lot has changed, but the basics—our culture, our love, our family—remain the same.”
