SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Venture capitalist and environmental advocate Vinod Khosla has issued a sharp critique of U.S. climate policy, warning that legislative inaction is endangering lives. In a recent post on X, Khosla urged voters—particularly in Texas—to reflect on how extreme weather events are tied to decisions made in Congress and the Senate.

“People are dying from extreme weather,” Khosla wrote, suggesting that ongoing climate disasters are not isolated events but the result of avoidable policy failures. His comments add to a growing chorus of climate advocates pressing lawmakers to take stronger action.

Khosla’s remarks come amid a summer of deadly heatwaves, flooding, and wildfires across the country, conditions scientists increasingly link to global warming. While he did not name specific legislation, his post called for a fundamental reassessment of environmental priorities in policymaking.

This is not the first time Khosla has taken aim at lawmakers. A longtime proponent of clean energy innovation, he previously sided with Elon Musk in opposing a Republican-backed bill that he said could worsen the deficit and widen wealth inequality.
