
Texas Hit-And-Run Claims Life Of Student Weeks Before Graduation

DALLAS, TX – Deepthi Vangavolu, a 24-year-old master’s student from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, tragically lost her life in a hit-and-run incident in Denton City, just weeks before her graduation.
The accident occurred on April 12 when Deepthi and her friend Snigdha, also from Guntur, were walking when a speeding vehicle struck both women and fled the scene.
Deepthi suffered severe head injuries and succumbed to them on April 15. Snigdha remains hospitalized and is said to be in stable condition following surgery.
Deepthi was pursuing her master’s degree at the University of North Texas and was scheduled to graduate this May. A graduate of Narasaraopet Engineering College, her family had sold farmland to support her academic journey and had planned to attend her graduation ceremony.
Telugu associations in the U.S. assisted the family with the necessary formalities. The hit-and-run case is under investigation by local authorities in Denton.
