The Art Of Living Recognized As Best Rainwater Harvesting NGO

BENGALURU (ANI)- The Art of Living Social Projects has been named Best Water NGO – Rainwater Harvesting at the Water Digest World Water Awards 2024–25.

Since 2013, the initiative has helped revive more than 70 rivers and streams across eight Indian states, restoring water flow to areas affected by drought and long-term water scarcity. These efforts have contributed to the recovery of ecosystems and improved water availability in several regions, the organization said.

A key strength of the program is its community-led model. Instead of a top-down approach, the work is driven by local engagement. Young leaders are trained to lead conservation projects, and Water Literacy Awareness Programs educate farmers, students, and communities on sustainable water practices. This approach ensures that water management becomes a shared, long-term responsibility, it said.
