Trump Wants To Make Showers Great Again And To Wet His “Beautiful” Hair Quickly
India-West News Desk
WASHINGTON, DC— President Donald Trump on April 9 signed an executive order rolling back federal water efficiency standards, including limits on showerhead flow rates.
While signing the order in the Oval Office, Trump said it was “ridiculous” he has to stand under the water for 15 minutes for his “beautiful” hair to get wet. “We’re going to open it up so that people can live,” he said.
The EPA says single low-flow showerhead can save about 2,700 gallons of water and $75 annually for the average family.
The move targets regulations first introduced under President Barack Obama and reinstated by President Joe Biden, which capped showerhead output at 2.5 gallons per minute.
The former presidents introduced these limits to conserve water and protecting the environment. Now, Trump’s order aims to “make America’s showers great again,” a White House fact sheet says.
Trump’s order directs the Energy Department to rescind those rules, affecting not just showers but also other water-using appliances like toilets and dishwashers.
According to a White House fact sheet, the rollback is part of an effort to reduce regulatory burden. “Overregulation chokes the American economy, entrenches bureaucrats, and stifles personal freedom,” the document stated.
