LOS ANGELES, CA — The LA wildfires have left many families displaced, creating an urgent need for food, shelter, and emotional support. In response, United Sikhs, a global humanitarian organization, has stepped up, rallying resources, volunteers, and partnerships to provide assistance in this critical time.

Since the fires began on January 7, United Sikhs has delivered over 10,000 meals, providing tangible support to those in need.

Collaboration has been key to these efforts. By working alongside local Gurdwaras and community organizations, the nonprofit is ensuring that resources are used efficiently and that aid reaches as many people as possible.

“The act of sharing a meal transcends cultural and religious boundaries. It’s a simple yet powerful way to show that we care for each other, no matter our backgrounds,” said Moninder Singhsenior program manager, United Sikhs.

Many families have found shelter through Gurdwara partnerships, said United Sikhs, which is also providing essential supplies. Their mega distribution drive, where volunteers of all faiths and backgrounds served hot food, masala chai and distributed supplies, including hygiene kits, non-perishable food items and blankets, was held on January 24 at the Pasadena Community Job Center.

The organization’s 24/7 support helpline, UMEED, (1-855-US-UMEED or +1 855-878-6333), remains a vital resource for guidance and assistance.

To meet the immense needs of those impacted, the U.N.-affiliated organization has also initiated a fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $35,000. The funds will be used to provide food, shelter and emergency services. To contribute to their relief efforts, visit unitedsikhs.org.
