Zeenat Aman Shares: She Choked, Panicked, And Survived

MUMBAI, (ANI)– Veteran Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman recently shared a nerve-wracking experience on Instagram, revealing she nearly choked on her blood pressure medication late at night.

In her candid post, Zeenat recounted the ordeal that unfolded after a long day at a studio in Andheri East. Returning home to her ecstatic dog, Lily, she followed her nightly routine, which ended with taking her blood pressure medication.

“I popped the pill into my mouth, took a sip of water, and then felt my breath catch,” she wrote. “There it was, this little pill lodged in my throat—too far down to regurgitate and too far up to swallow.”

Alone at home with her pets, Zeenat tried drinking water repeatedly, but the pill remained stuck. Panicked, she called her son, Zahaan, who rushed to her aid. After consulting a doctor, she learned the pill would dissolve on its own, spending the next few hours sipping warm water and waiting.

Reflecting on the incident, Zeenat highlighted the importance of patience during challenging situations. “The pill is a metaphor for life’s discomforts. Sometimes it’s important to confront and change. But at other times, patience, restraint, and equanimity are key.”

On the professional front, Zeenat Aman is set to appear in the Netflix series The Royals and the film Bun Tikki, alongside Abhay Deol and Shabana Azmi.
