Urvashi Dholakia Opens Up About Raising Twins At 17

MUMBAI – Television actress Urvashi Dholakia has opened up about balancing motherhood, work, and personal struggles at a young age, reflecting on her journey from child actor to one of Indian television’s most recognizable stars.

Speaking on actor and television host Rajeev Khandelwal’s show ‘Tum Ho Naa,’ Dholakia discussed the responsibilities that shaped her life and career. During the conversation, Khandelwal noted that she had started working at the age of six and married at a young age.

Correcting his assumption about when she became a parent, Dholakia revealed that she became a mother to twin sons at just 17.

Recalling her childhood, the actress shared that her dream of becoming an actor began when she was young and watched television advertisements. She remembered telling her mother that she no longer wanted to watch television because she wanted to be “inside the TV,” a moment she described as the beginning of her acting journey.

Speaking about her career aspirations, Dholakia said acting was the only thing she ever wanted to do.

The actress also reflected on how responsibilities came naturally to her because she had been working since childhood. Discussing the challenges of navigating marriage, motherhood, and difficult phases of life at a young age, she credited her parents for being her strongest source of support, encouragement, and motivation.

Khandelwal praised her parents’ role in helping her through those years and described her father as her “Tum Ho Naa.”
